THE WINE
This bright garnet red wine has complex aromas of red crunchy fruits, blackberry, red currant, raspberry and subtle notes of licorice. Berries and sweet spices grace the palate, with notes of white pepper and chocolate.

ST. JOSEPH IN NORTHERN RHONE
The village of Saint Joseph was remnamed for a short period after the French Revolution, when all names with "saint" were recalled. At that time St. Joseph was called “Roquebrussane,” meaning brown stone, like the soil there. North of Hermitage, in an area long about 40 kilometers, Saint Joseph’s vineyard is one of the most important on the right bank of the Rhône river in the north of the valley. The soil is schist (dark stones).
GRAPE VARIETIES: 100 % Syrah
WINEMAKING: Grapes originate from selection of parcels: old plots nearly one century old, with ideal exposures and low yields. Grapes are harvested by hands and rigorously sorted. Grapes are vinified separately after total de-stemming. Long macerations (3-4 weeks) are done with frequent pump-over and daily control (analysis and tasting).
MATURATION: We age the wine in French oak barrels for 10 to 12 months before blending. The bottled wine is aged for several months before release.
