"Co-fermentation" is a winemaking term indicating that the grapes used in the wine were fermented together. The alternate approach is to vinify each lot separately and then blend them afterwards.
<P>In this case, all the grapes were Syrah, but from a variety of top-notch vineyards in Santa Barbara County:<ul>

<P>With this wine, the crowning glory in the Margerum portfolio, Doug set out to make the ultimate Syrah. The result is a wine with tremendous structure, length and complexity.
<P>ÜBER is a synonym for super; e.g. übercool, this means it is a top wine in the hip sense - a generally intensified product and the best wine that will come from Margerum. The wine is aged 20 months in mostly new barrels from a high quality producer in St. Romain, France.
