About the Wine:
The first time I stopped by Arcadian's operation, it was in the chaos of harvest. I was pleased to see his winemaking team hand-sorting grapes as they arrived, following Joe edict to "dispose of any cluster you wouldn't want to put in your mouth!"
Sorting grapes is tedious, sticky work. Wine grapes have sugars far in excess of grapes used for table or juice. But we think the results are worth the extra labor costs, and once you taste Joe’s wines, you’ll see why.
Arcadian makes some of the most elegant and feminine wines the Central Coast has to offer. We are pleased to bring you this carefully selected, collectible wine.
Cheers!
Tasting Notes
A big nose-full of mouth-watering cherries and roses with just a teasing hint of oak. On the palate, look for more cherries, hints of tobacco pouch leather (will become more dominant with age) and cedar spice. A finish you can measure with a sun dial.
This is the current release from famed Arcadian winegrower Joe Davis - one of my favorite producers and one of the few to receive repeat placements in my sampling program.
