Tasting Panel Comments:
This hand-made wine is as delicate as hand-made lace. Look for a clean, well-balanced wine with complex fruit and floral flavors apparent from first sip all the way through to the finish. We found plum and rose petals accented with spice balanced nicely by youthful tannins and hints of sweet fruit found on the middle palate. A round wine with no sharp edges.
The Winery:
East Valley Vineyard and Winery is well on its way to achieving the vision of Winemaker/Owner David Dascomb - a prestigious boutique winery producing premium wines. His goal is to remain small enough to invite visitors to see their vineyard and then sit down to share a glass of wine.
The Wine:
Praise-worthy Pinot only comes from a few small spots on the globe - Santa Barbara County being one of them. The Pinot Noir for this wine is a labor of love, farmed and harvested by the Dascomb and Hamilton families. The Hamilton vineyard is located at the mouth of Jalama Valley in Santa Barbara County, just South of the famed Santa Rita Hills appellation. Its warm days and cool nights make it an ideal location for Pinot Noir grapes.
