<B>Tasting Synopsis</b><ol>
<li><B>Nose:</b> Ahhh, the scent of an old world wine! A scented tour of the Spanish countryside, this wine captures scents of dark fruits, honey, dust, distant leaf fires, aromatic vegetation and perhap a distant farmyard.
<li><B>Palate:</b> Delivers everything hinted at and promised by the nose. Don't ask me how to preserve any unfinished <i>Sexto</i>, I simply doubt there will ever be any.</ol>
<P><B>Winemaker's Notes</b>
<br>I wanted to make a wine that is original and, at the same time, traditional. Perhaps a better way to say that is "a traditional wine but with a modern twist!" Catalonia is the hottest area of Spain and the wines of this region - and the food - have achieved huge international renown. Since I know of no other American making wine in this fantastic place, I decided to launch a new venture - making wine in an area I think has huge promise. - Laely Heron

<li>Varietal: 33% Grenache, 30% Carignan, 20% Tempranillo, 6%, Lledoner Pelut, 6% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Syrah
<li>Vineyard Notes: Terra Alta, Spain. Four vineyards with altitudes of 350 – 600 meters, Terra Alta or “high lands” is the southern-most D.O. in Catalonia
<li>Production Details: Hand harvested, 90% stem removal, then crushed to tank, soaked overnight, natural yeast, cool temperature fermentation, extended maceration 25 days at 25°C, pumped over three times per day. After fermentation is complete, pressed. Malolactic fermentation initiated 15 days later. Aged 8 months in new, one and two-year old French oak barrels from a winery-owned cooperage in central France, using naturally cured old-growth oak exclusively.
