(New to the shop in October, 2009) What the manufacturer says Dream in comfort with an all silk eyeshade. Comfortable, lightweight and soothing, with an elegant luster. What Rebecca says I always seem to be looking for new night eye protection products because people's needs, tolerances and preferences vary so much. What's comfortable for one person at night is intolerable to another, what's hardly noticeable to one keeps another from sleeping, and what keeps one person nice & moist does nothing for another. It's all about experimenting and finding what works for each individual. - Then too, there are the 'hassle factors' - how much care does it need? Are there parts that have to be replaced? What do I wash it with and how often? Thankfully there is an increasing array of products carving out their various niches in this sometimes overwhelming spectrum of needs and wants. This silk sleep mask is pretty, very soft, and well designed as all the Dream Essentials masks are. It's decently priced, all things considered. The exterior is silk, the filling is the usual polyester. The eye-side exterior is woven silk, so smoother and softer than the usual cotton knit used on most of the sleep masks I stock. The strap is two narrow elastic bands, each individually adjustable. While they are not fancy looking, they are actually a very interesting feature when you start playing around with  them. How the mask feels and how it adjusts around your lids varies a great deal depending how you use these. You can use them wide apart (in fact... ladies... some of you might find this the best way to deal with the strap-flattening-hair effect), together, or even use only one for less tension. Depending how you adjust them you may find it placing gentle pressure on your lids or none at all. All in all, cetainly worth a whirl for those who are struggling with strap issues and/or who want a smooth silky fabric against their eyelids. As with all sleep masks... I won't resell used ones, so I'm afraid I do not accept returns of these - please purchase only what you can afford to experiment on.
