I love my Tranquileyes goggle, and if for any reason I don't use that I typically use a sleep mask.

However, I occasionally come across people with poor lid closure at night who cannot wear either Tranquileyes or a sleep mask for some reason or another, for example, I had one customer who was a CPAP user and it turned out not to be possible to combine the apparatus with the goggle. Or if someone has an ongoing infection of course they should not be putting wet pads on their eyes at night. So I finally decided to check out the taping scene in order to educate myself. I bought several tapes and this Micropore tape was the hands-down winner of the ones I tried - at any rate, in a lesser-of-various-evils kind of way!

Personally, I could not get my lids to close satisfactorily with narrow tape. I needed the 1" wide tape and had to give myself pretty good firm coverage. When I removed it, I had to take it slow and careful, pulling downwards, and though there was a very slight rawness after removing it in the morning, it was very brief. I had no residue that I could feel, but I used my Ocusoft foam lidscrub in the shower anyway, and after that the lid I'd taped felt perfectly normal. The other tapes I have tried left me feeling sticky and uncomfortable to a point where I simply could not imagine using them on a daily basis.

By the way, if you've got a tape you really like, please drop me a line! I'd love to test it out and let others know.

Who am I? My name is Rebecca Petris and I have had chronic dry eye since undergoing LASIK in July 2001.
