Why?
Did you know that when you are staring at a computer screen, your blink rate (number of times in a minute that you blink) is reduced to a fraction of what it is normally?
Blinking less means tears are not getting distributed across your eyes as frequently as they need to in order to keep the eye surfaces nourished and protected. That is why your eyes will get tired, scratchy, and sore; why your contact lenses will get uncomfortable; and why you may not see as well after using the computer for several hours.
Putting effort into blinking more frequently when using the computer is an important part of workplace eye care for the dry eye patient.
Our squeezeable computer stress reliever will be a cheerful visible reminder to you to BLINK MORE. Take it to work and watch it generate lots of educational conversations with your co-workers.
Text on the computer says:
(large print) BLINK MORE!
(small print) Keep those eyeballs lubricated.
