It is particularly helpful for those suffering from chronic lid inflammation but the chilling effect is also very soothing when dry eyes become sore during or after a long day's work. From "The Dry Eye Remedy" (Chapter 8, Your Home Eye Spa): "Cool Tips: Store some gel compresses, like my Soothers, in the refrigerator. Then, whenever your eyes feel irritated, sore, or tired, pull out a pair, apply, and chill out. The simple result is constriction of the blood vessels, but the sensation is remarkably soothing." OPTIONALLY, you can get two soothers and an insulated cooler case with disposable freezer packs. REBECCA’S REVIEW This is the simplest, most economical way to get some cool relief for the lids. Many people find this kind of thing very helpful to give their eyes a brief rest and a little rejuvenation once or more during the day.
