It is a wine that is praised not only for its exceptional quality but also its great value.

There is an admirable sense of polish to this wine along with a well-managed bit of Syrah swagger, and those carefully melded traits are revealed in the blackberry and raspberry fruitiness that shows up in the wine's aromas and in the richly proportioned yet always balancing oaky richness that lies in support. Polish is also a significant part of the wine's early passage on the palate, and it is only towards the end that things get tough and puckery. Give it a few years to soften or try it now with marinated meats or hunks of beef or lamb. -Charles Olken
