There is an abundance of spice and fruit in this complex, yet hedonistic Pinot Noir. With aeration, aromas of cloves, strawberry, cherry, sage, and black pepper become apparent. The transition from aroma to flavor is quite seamless with cherry, cloves, and black pepper. Silky tannins paired with zesty acidity make this a lively, long-lived wine. This wine finishes strong with an expansive and lingering finish. Interestingly, this bottling is one of Testarossa’s highest-alcohol Pinots. The stunning 2006 version is simply brimming with both cherry-like fruit and sweet, caramelly oak, but what sets it apart and above are its impressions of concentration and sheer depth combined with a sense of genuine polish and very good balance.
