Dark red color. There is an abundance of spice and fruit in this complex, yet hedonistic Pinot Noir. With aeration, aromas of cloves, strawberry, cherry, sage, and black pepper become apparent. The transition from aroma to flavor is quite seamless with cherry, cloves, and black pepper. Silky tannins paired with zesty acidity make this a lively, long-lived wine. This wine finishes strong with an expansive and lingering finish. Enjoy now through 2015.

Of all Testarossa’s 2006 Pinots, this is the most complex, and also the most age-worthy. Offers a flood of cherry, red currant, Dr. Pepper, raspberry, licorice, vanilla cookie and oaky spice flavors that are fantastically intense and interesting. Interestingly, this bottling is one of Testarossa’s highest-alcohol Pinots. Great now and for a good six more years.

Testarossa's Cuvee Niclaire bottling may be the most expensive of the winery's offerings, but it has not been our favorite until now. The stunning 2006 version is simply brimming with both cherry-like fruit and sweet, caramelly oak, but what sets it apart and above are its impressions of concentration and sheer depth combined with a sense of genuine polish and very good balance. Its slight tannic grip suggests room to grow, and few years should see it reaching its best. -Charles Olken

Fresh and snappy, with zesty wild berry, raspberry, anise and subtle hints of mineral and sage. Keeps its tight focus and delivers a long beam of flavors. Drink now through 2011.
