Straw color. Aromas of cinnamon, citrus, peach, banana, and hazelnut. As the wine is tasted, it provides ample flavors of fig, pear, apple, and clove. While the richness is apparent, the delicate acidity keeps this wine from being heavy-handed. The wine finishes strong with a lingering and integrated finish. Drink now through 2016.

Rich and ripe in the Testarossa style, and delightfully outgoing, this full-bodied effort is loaded with bright apple and citrus fruit aromas and while it has been steeped in very fancy oak barrels, it does not sell itself to that oak and instead comes across as full of balanced, attractive personality. It also carries a lighter, almost candied edge that is not so evident in most of the winery's other offerings reviewed here. -Charles Olken

This regional bottling has been a strong suit of Testarossa over the years, a best-barrel blend from their far-flung coastal empire of vineyards. It’s very rich in apricot, pineapple, honeysuckle and smoky oak flavors, and finishes dry and spicy. Shows an elegant complexity that should develop over the next six years. - Steve Heimoff
