<H1>2006 Small Lot Cabernet Franc -- Wente Vineyards Shopping Cart</H1> 2006 Small Lot Cabernet Franc Vineyard: This Cabernet Franc comes from the cool growing region of Arroyo Seco. The long season allows for the grapes to fully develop subtle flavors not usually found in this varietal in California. Fermentation: The grapes for this wine were handpicked and hand sorted at the winery prior to being delicately crushed. Fermentation was completed in open-top fermenters and punched down twice daily by hand. The grapes were then gently pressed leaving any possible bitter tannins behind. Aging: Malolactic fermentation was initiated and completed in barrel, prior to aging for 14 months in 33% new Eastern European oak and the remainder in older cooperage. escription:This Cabernet Franc has wonderful aromas of chocolate, mint, floral and sage.
