-- Rocking Rockpile Zin!
This awesome Zinfandel is always highly lauded in the wine community! We just got the 2006 vintage and can't wait to try it. For a hit, read the reviews of the 2005...
"The top wine in this portfolio is the 2005 Zinfandel Rockpile Road Vineyard, a blend of 93% Zinfandel and 7% Petite Sirah. An opaque dark ruby/purple color is followed by aromas of crushed rocks, spring flowers, blueberries, black raspberries, and kirsch. This complex, dense, full-bodied Zin possesses good underlying minerality as well as beautifully integrated acidity and tannin. It is a superb offering that should drink nicely for 7-8 years.
The ever reliable Kent Rosenblum continues to turn out a portfolio of delicious Zinfandels. Along with Napa’s Biale family and a short list of other North Coast producers, Rosenblum Cellars is as good as it gets when it comes to Zinfandel." - 92 points, Robert Parker

JR Wine Big Dave's Vineyard Zinfandel 2005 -- Although keenly varietal in its unwavering fix on ripe berries and briar, this deep, optimally ripened Zin takes on an idiosyncratic note as it shows unconventional suggestions of meaty, Syrah-like spice. It is nicely stuffed on the palate with a long . . .
Orin Swift Cellars "Saldo" -- "This recalls those great old California field blends, but with more polish and structure. Aromas of smoky boysenberry and cracked pepper lead to layered, zesty flavors of plum, tobacco and anise. Drink now through 2013." - Wine Spectator, 91 pts
Rosenblum Cellars Vintner's Cuvee XXXI NV -- The lovely, bright, jammy cherry and raspberry fruit with hints of black pepper and spice are the main focus of this fruit-forward wine. It is a very friendly, drinkable, zesty style Zinfandel at a very affordable price.Cheese Pairings: Italian . . .
Twenty Rows “The Grappler” 2006 -- Layers and layers of rich fruit, chocolate aromas, peppery spice and sweet licorice. The wine is full-bodied with some earthy, bacon and raisin characteristics. I love the rich cherry flavors and aromas. A bit like Ben & Jerry’s Cherry Garcia Frozen . . .
