The BEST meritage-style red we've tasted in a long time at this price point! Northstar Winery sources these grapes from eight select vineyards in the heralded Columbia Valley. The final blend of 51% cabernet sauvignon, 44% merlot, and 5% malbec is aged for 18 months in new and one-year-old French and American barriques. This is the kinda stuff you'll want a case of... delicious after an hour or so in a decanter, but even better after a few years in the cellar! Beautiful aromas of cedar, mint, blueberry and a mildly gamy earthiness. The brawny flavors of bing cherry and blackberry are perfectly balanced by the structure and dusty tannin of an ageworthy red. A truly American Bordeaux!
