The flavors are soft, displaying fresh cranberries and a touch of earth. Fermented and aged in steel tanks, this mild beauty comes from Germany... yes, Germany. Weingut PJ Valckenberg and its more than 500-year-old vineyards are located in the Rheinhessen region of Worms near the bank of the Rhine. They call the varietal Weilburgunder and although they have been exporting their wines since the early 1800's, they have only recently begun exporting their reds.
