<div>Long Island, New York. Produced and bottled in Sagaponack, New York. Under Winemaker/Technical Director Roman Roth's meticulous care, Wölffer Estate Vineyard encompasses 55 acres and practices sustainable agriculture. Similar in many respects to conditions in Bordeaux, the local Bridgehampton loam soil, combined with the breeze from the Atlantic, only 2.6 miles away, provides the perfect conditions to achieve the ripeness and acidity necessary for producing Wölffer's signature style: European elegance combined with the typicity of their Long Island terroir. </div>

<div><strong>Style/Taste</strong></div>
<div>The bright golden color reflects the great season and its abundance of sun. The aromas are classic, with rich fruit of ripe pear and sun dried peaches, hints of vanilla and creamy lees. The mouth-feel is lush, with layers of fruit and beautiful acidity wrapped with well-integrated oak and fine lees notes, making this wine extremely food-friendly. </div>

<div><strong>Harvest</strong> </div>
<div>The 2005-year was a fantastic growing season with lots of sun and heat, ideal to push ripeness. Hand harvested as late as possible, without losing elegance, on October 16th where the grapes were handled swiftly and gently. </div>

<div><strong>Technical Data</strong> </div>
<div> The juice was well settled for 24 hours at 50°F, followed by a very clean racking. Fermented in 100% French barriques, of which 30% were new oak. Natural Malolactic Fermentation went through 25% and the wine stayed sur lees for a total of 7 months, with very little batonage.</div>
<div>The wine was fined and filtered in June and bottled on August 8, 2006. 240 cases were produced.</div>

<div><strong>Serving</strong> </div>
<div>This is a beautiful Chardonnay that will be perfect for rich fish dishes, creamy flavorful chicken or veal, and of course an array of cheeses. Serve slightly chilled, rather than ice-cold. </div>
