<div>Long Island, New York. Produced and bottled in Sagaponack, New York. Under Winemaker/Technical Director Roman Roth's meticulous care, Wölffer Estate Vineyard encompasses 55 acres and practices sustainable agriculture. Similar in many respects to conditions in Bordeaux, the local Bridgehampton loam soil, combined with the breeze from the Atlantic, only 2.6 miles away, provides the perfect conditions to achieve the ripeness and acidity necessary for producing Wölffer's signature style: European elegance combined with the typicity of their Long Island terroir. </div>

<p>100% Pinot Noir picked from our vineyard, planted to clone 115 in 2000. </p>

<p><strong>Style/Taste</strong> </p>
<p>Dark red brick in color. The aroma is full of red cherries, cranberries, baked apple, lavender and sandalwood. Elegant, well-balanced, ripe fruit adds a playful sweet note to the medium-bodied mouth-feel. A lively acidity moves into soft, velvet tannins with beautiful layers of ripe skin and fine smoky notes softened by creamy lees characters. The long finish leaves you wanting another sip. </p>

<div><strong>Technical Data</strong> </div>

<div>Harvested on October 5th, the yield was low at 1.8 tons/acre. Fermentation was done in 1-ton bins with 10% whole clusters. The cap was gently punched down 3 times a day during peak fermentation to extract color and flavors. The total maceration time (skin contact) lasted 18 days. After softly pressing the grapes and a 5-day settling of the yeast, the wine was put into French oak barrels (25% new oak) to complete Malolactic fermentation and to age and mature for 15.5 months. The wine got a total of 5 rackings. Bottled unfined and unfiltered on February 13th. Only 117 cases were produced. </div>
