The Williamsburg Winery Plantation Blush 2012

The first thing that strikes me is the elegant color of the wine; reminiscent of a light pink rose, (how fitting).  The elegant color of the wine carries through in the aromas offering an abundance of strawberry, raspberry, blueberry with a bit of green apple and citrus.  The candied quality of the fruit also offers a bit of tropical character.  These fruit tones give way to a nice soft creamy vanilla and floral tone.  Overall the wine is wonderfully balanced and has a clean and refreshing finish.  The residual sugar and the brightness work very well together making this a perfect spring or summer wine.  A wine made for the picnic basket.  I think this will surprise the so called, "serious wine drinkers"!
