Cara Mia Vineyard, Red Mountain 83% Cabernet Franc 17% Merlot
Oh, the nose! Floral, mineral, fruit, menthol; smell deeply
and itβs all there with intensity. Blue fruit, dried cherries and echoes of the
aromas on the palate. The tannins are more to the fore than Camerata and the
acidity less so, pushing the structure in the muscular direction. The structure
is buffered by an enveloping silky texture that lends a certain opulence to the
mouthfeel. All of these sensations mingle through a powerful, long finish. Bel
Canto, too, only reaches its potential with a long decant or time in the glass.
Try one now, put another away for 5 years and the rest will slumber comfortably
in your cellar for 25+ years.
