2023 Rainmaker Vineyard Pinot Noir

We did it again – a Pinot Noir! This is from the unique Rainmaker vineyard that sits a few miles above White Salmon, Washington in the Columbia River Gorge. At nearly 1400 feet in elevation it lies in a cool site with beautiful southern exposure. Upon pouring the light ruby color is immediately obvious. This is not Syrah masquerading as Pinot. Bright cherry, dusty minerals and camphor nose, all with an intensity belied by the color. Racy acidity provides laser focus to the red cherry fruit. Pleasing intensity and length, weight and elegant poise. This wine is a ballerina not a pugilist.
