Description: A low protein Italian pasta that is short, ribbed bent large macaroni with one end narrow like a whistle. This shape can be used as the base of any dish and would be good with thicker sauces. Bake it, stir it into soups, or create great salads and stir-fry dishes. The Aproten line of pastas are also wheat/lactose-free and low in salt and potassium, making them suitable for individuals with renal diseases as well.
Preparation: Boil 4 cups of water per 62 g of pasta. Stir pasta into the boiling water and then simmer for 8-9 minutes or until tender. Drain and rinse under running water for approximately 2 minutes to remove excess starch.
The cooking time listed may vary depending on boiling methods and tastes.
Serving Suggestions: Prepare Cambrooke Foods' Alfredo Sauce Mix and pour over the prepared pasta or top with your favorite marinara or spaghetti sauce.
Storage: Store in a cool dry place.
Ingredients: Corn starch, potato flour, inulin, mono- and diglycerides, safflower meal.
