Hoot Owl Creek Cabernet Sauvignon 2016
Hoot Owl Vineyard stands as the oldest Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard in Alexander Valley. Planted in 1962, the vineyard supplies grapes to renowned wineries like Silver Oak, Simi & Rodney Strong. The land was originally developed by Russell Green, Alison Green Doran's father, who also owned Simi
Winery in the 1970s. Growing up on this vineyard, Alison pursued winemaking and was mentored by André Tchelistcheff, a legendary winemaker widely regarded as the most influential vintner in Sonoma and Napa Counties.
Alison crafts wine for several distinguished vineyards, including Romeo Vineyards, Hill Family,
Levendi, and Crane Family. She previously served as the winemaker at Firestone for numerous years. Currently, Alison also produces her own limited-production wine, Hoot Owl Creek Cabernet Sauvignon, creating just 300 cases annually.
The 2016 vintage is a smooth, slightly dry wine with silky tannins. Aged under optimal conditions by
the winery, Sonoma Wine Shop is delighted to offer this exceptional bottling. Representing years of vineyard care and decades of winemaking expertise, Hoot Owl Creek is one of our most cherished hidden treasures.
