This nice, soft, deep yet smooth wine is a unique blend of Rhône varietals, grown in Mendocino.
The classic Grenache provides a light base and accepts deeper, darker components. The typical Rhône addition of Syrah is a proven complement, deepening the flavor. Interestingly, Petite sirah is added. This varietal is Bryan's favorite, and is ALSO considered a Rhône by some. Petite Sirah is a hybrid of Syrah, and Peloursin -an almost extinct varietal found in Rhône-Alpes. Here, this addition provides that bit of tannic 'bite' that we really love.
This release is best served with rich, creamy foods, or stronger cheese like our Spring Hill peppercorn cheddar, both of which we have at La Bodega!
