Classic Sonoma Zinfandel from famous Vineyard
Our wine shop always delivers superior, rare Zinfandels, made with high quality fruit, but produced in a range of styles. Zinfandel can be rich and heavy, dry and medium weigth, smooth and soft, even bold and intense.
Robert Young's son Jim Young produced this bigger, dry styled Zinfandel. What we call "a Cabernet lover's Zinfandel". Pairing with hearty entrees like our "Beef Brisket Cannelloni" sounds like perfection. 200 case production.
The Vineyard:
Robert Young vineyard literally put Chateau St. Jean on the map with their chardonnay. They produce a spectacular list of varietals at the head of Alexander Valley, on Red Winery Road in Geyserville. Jim Young runs the vineyard and produces these wines at his Victorian era homestead. His wife Kathleen, a favorite of our club, passed in 2021.
From the Winery:
Our Zinfandel is full and rich with flavors of dark cherry and blackberries. It has an extra-long finish of bitter-sweet chocolate and just a bit of spice on the finish.
