Seebass Estate Merlot 2016 - Great little new producer - 30 years in the making - planted in the 1980s, they are making their own way now. This is their finest effort to date- made by Stefan who is winemaker from Hyde de Villaine in Carneros, part of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. Excellent balance and finesse coupled with deeply fresh & candied cherry fruit. The dry finish is a touch of surprise for such freshly picked fruit - it is testament to the French background of the winemaker. $35.
