2017 Talty Estate Zinfandel, Dry Creek Valley 14.4%
The Estate Zinfandel comes from my own six acre, 58 year old head-pruned and dry-farmed vineyard in the heart of Dry Creek Valley. To intensify and concentrate the flavors I drop fruit production in the vineyard to about 2 tons per acre.
Tasting Notes:
A field blend of 7% Petite Sirah, 3% Carignane, and 90% Zinfandel. This year's 2017 Estate Zinfandel will rock your senses. In the nose you will experience the nuances of ripe Bing cherries along with dark rasberries, toasted oak with hints of cedar. On the palate are bursts of juicy cherry fruit layered with dark raspberry and lightly toasted oak. This perfectly blanced wine will finish with luscious and soft tannins.
