2021 Talty Estate Zinfandel, Dry Creek Valley 14.8%
Our pride and joy. The Estate Zinfandel comes from our own six acre, 60-year-old head-pruned and dry-farmed vineyard named after Michael's father in the heart of Dry Creek Valley. This vineyard is 90% Zinfandel, 7% Petite Sirah, and 3% Carignane. An intentional low yield combined with dry farming results in concentrated fruit flavors and great character year after year. The 2021 Estate Zin was harvested on September 10th, fermented with native yeast, and after pressing, aged in 30% new American oak barrels for just over a year. It was bottled on December 6th, 2022.Tasting Notes
In the nose, this new wine shows what Dry Creek Valley is all about. Aromatic, juicy cherry and red fruit characteristics, with hints of vanilla from the oak. On the palate, you will find similar cherry characteristics, signature to this valley, with a medium body that we love in our Zin. This wine finishes with balanced acidity, carrying the flavors through your entire palate. Michael's peak drinking time: 2027-2030.
