roots:With this vintage we pulled from our second Estate Vineyard. The Shearer Estate Vineyard is owned by Elaine St. Clair’s parents. Slow to establish because of the rock and shallow topsoil, the vineyard is over 20 years old and is at its prime. Also, in Coombsville, it sits at a slightly higher elevation. A western exposure, the cool Coombsville climate, and rocky volcanic soil all favorably contribute to this wine’s structure and full flavor development.
