2023 Rosé of Grenache, Sonoma Valley, Sonoma County
Winemaking:
"I make the Rosé like a white wine; I gently press the whole clusters of Grenache using our Champagne press until the color and depth of flavor I am looking for is achieved. The juice is then fermented in stainless steel at a cool temperature to preserve the delicate flavors. The finished wine is well-balanced and bursting with fruit and has a smooth long finish"
— Winemaker/Brewmaster, Elaine St. Clair
Roots:
The 2023 vintage is from the Leake Vineyard in the southern end of the Sonoma Valley. In this part of Sonoma Valley, the climate is cooler which helps retain the natural bright acidity in the grapes. The Grenache grapes for Rosé are picked earlier in the season at a lower sugar level to achieve a lighter style wine with lower alcohol and brighter berry and floral notes.
Aromas:
strawberry, melon, marmelade, rose petal
