Mounts Petasera 2021: This Petite Sirah showcases the three-generation legacy of the Mounts Family in Dry Creek Valley. Rich Mounts planted these vines in 2006, At that time, son David and his wife Lana began crafting their own wines from select portions of the family vineyard. Today, their son Jacob has joined the vineyard team, making this a true family affair spanning three generations.
Their vineyard has rolling hills which provide subtle differences in sunlight and shade.
Winery Tasting Notes
Rich, deep black, staining color. Dark blackberry, violets, and earth aromatics are abundant. Flavors follow into sugar plum, blue and black berry fruit, savory meat, anise, and a bit of dark chocolate. Bold tannins, massive complexity, and chewiness are present in youth and will soften into a silky texture and finish with cellar aging.
Pairs beautifully with barbecued meats, hearty pasta dishes, or aged cheeses."
