Zinfandel isn’t widely planted in the Santa Cruz Mountains, but at Ormsby Trail, high above the fog, it’s allowed to slowly ripen in the sunshine. The nose is of bright cherry, with vanilla and a touch of black pepper. In the glass, it features both blue and black berry fruit, and a little hint of coffee.
