roots:The Shearer Estate Syrah Vineyard is owned by Elaine St. Clair’s father. It is located in Coombsville about 10 minutes from the Winery. It sits at an elevation of 600 ft. above sea level. Slow to establish because of the rock and shallow topsoil, the vineyard is now over 25 years old and is at its prime. Due to the steep hillside all the farming is meticulously done by hand. A western exposure, the cool bay-influenced climate, and rocky volcanic soil all favorably contribute to this wine’s structure and full flavor development.
